Identifying Local Blogs

March 3, 2007 § 1 Comment

Some interesting tools are being developed to help identify and track local blogs. These sites, like most things local, are highly dependent on user input. If you don’t see any blogs for your city, town or neighborhood listed on these sites, then list them yourself.

Placeblogger is a directory of local blogs. Type in your location and hit enter — you’ll get a list of blogs that focus on your community.

Outside.in aggregates local blog entries into a single interface based geotags, geographic metadata that is applied to each post. This one is cool and useful and likely to continue to get better.

Blogdigger Local is a local blog search engine. This one, while the earliest of the 3, is the laggard. Just not a lot of content there right now.
