Trot the globe virtually, check out libraries

Virtual Globetrotting is fun to poke around: user submitted “satellite and aerial imagery from around the world via Google® Maps, Google Earth, Windows® Live Local and Yahoo® Maps.”

Lots of celeb homes (including the “librarian“), museums and artwork. My random stumble upons: the world’s largest hockey stick and the secret book.

There is a category for libraries that includes 85 libraries or library related images like this one of ALA headquarters:

Find interesting stuff in your local area. I live in Buffalo and was not aware of this big head at the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society:
